Our holdings

The holdings of the archive refer to diverse groups of documents that have been combined into a unit according to logically comprehensible aspects such as their origin, their context of origin and their factual content according to formal characteristics. These include, for example, the files of city and district administrations, but also collections of photographs and newspaper clippings. Almost all documents in an archive are assigned to collections that structure the archive. The holdings of the archive are available online in this portal and can be researched

Hinweise für Benutzer

Archivnutzung und Gebühren
Die Nutzung von Findmitteln und Archivgut im Lesesaal (Öffnungszeiten) des Kreisarchivs ist kostenlos.
Der Lesesaal verfügt über insgesamt 12 Arbeitsplätze mit Laptop-Anschlüssen. Für die Beantwortung schriftlicher Anfragen von weniger als 30 Minuten Arbeitszeit fallen keine Gebühren an.
Aufwändigere Recherchen ab einer Bearbeitungszeit von 30 Minuten sind dagegen gebührenpflichtig (je angefangene ¼ Stunde Arbeitszeit = € 14,-)
Es empfiehlt sich, vor Ihrem Besuch im Archiv anzufragen, ob zu Ihrem Forschungsthema potentielle Quellen vorhanden sind.

Beachten Sie bitte, dass Fotoaufnahmen von Archivalien aus urheberrechtlichen Gründen nicht gestattet sind.
Es können jedoch Reproduktionen (Scans in s/w und Farbe) gegen Gebühr (vgl. Gebührenordnung) erstellt werden.
Eine Ausleihe sowie der Versand von Archivalien an Institutionen oder Dritte sind aus bestandserhalterischen Gründen nicht möglich.
 
Familienforschung
Es wird darauf hingewiesen, dass im Kreisarchiv keine Personenstands- oder Melderegister aufbewahrt werden. Diese werden im jeweiligen Stadt-/Gemeindearchiv verwahrt.
