Gemeindearchiv Recke
The old mining and Tödden town of Recke is part of the Tecklenburger Land with around 11,000 inhabitants and today includes Recke, Steinbeck, Obersteinbeck and Espel. After an administrative union with the neighboring municipality of Mettingen that lasted around 20 years (1930 - 1950), Recke has been independent again since 1951.

The stocks of the Recke municipal archive includes the sub-holdings A to E and are collected by year. Most of the archival units are files that trace the administrative history of Recke as well as the districts of Steinbeck, Obersteinbeck and Espel. There are also a certain number of old maps and plans, an extensive photographic inventory, various archival collections and an extensive archive library. The analogue finding aids only cover the stocks A to C.
